Moora Volunteer Fire & Rescue

We are volunteer fire fighters protecting the Moora and surrounding communities. We were established in 1933.

Through comprehensive training, VFRS firefighters learn to operate the wide range of equipment, vehicles and appliances used for firefighting. They also work on containing hazardous material spills, road crash rescue, and fire safety education.

VFRS provides training in:
-Personal and team safety
-Structural and bush firefighting
-Communications First Aid
-Vehicle driving both on and off road
-Leadership and emergency management procedures.

Not all firefighters’ work involves firefighting or rescue.

Volunteers can promote fire education programs through schools, service groups, seniors’ homes and local businesses.
